More than a year after the end of the Attack on Titan manga, Hajime Isayama has spoken out about the controversy on his way to the US. The creator is aware of the fan reaction to the ending of the series, with many complaining about how he ended Eren’s story.

Isayama will attend Anime NYC and is now preparing to face many fans as he fears feeling their wrath. Given the issues surrounding Attack on Titan, the creator doesn’t want you to be overly critical of him.

In a statement via Comicbook, the manga artist revealed that his idea was heavily influenced by Hollywood movies, TV shows and American culture. So he’s looking forward to meeting the American fans and being in a place he’s always wanted to visit.

He then admitted that he was aware of the controversy surrounding the series‘ ending and was open to people’s honest opinions about it. But he has one request: he would appreciate it if you were nice to him.

First of all, fans complained about the many deaths at the end of the Attack on Titan manga. The protagonist himself, Eren, died at the hands of his best friend/lover, Mikasa, who was forced to kill him to save humanity.

As one of the most popular characters, his death came as a shock to many, with some expecting him to redeem himself in the end. Others also complained about the brutal violence and fascist rhetoric.

The final story arc of the manga also featured two major conflicts in paradise. The first was led by Eren, who wanted to destroy the world by using the Colossal Titan’s power to save the island.

The other was led by Hange, who opposed Eren’s actions and had her own plans to save Paradise. A civil war then broke out in Attack on Titan.

Although Eren was able to stop his enemies, he didn’t. Hangi’s team came out on top and won almost every fight.

Twenty percent of the world was saved from Rumbling, but it still didn’t end well for Paradise. Although everything was fine in the end, it wasn’t long before Paradise was destroyed as the world didn’t forget what Eren had done.

Fans complained that they saw no morality in the Attack on Titan ending, as all of Eren’s efforts to save paradise were nullified with his death. Therefore, many expect that the upcoming final part of the anime of the series will change everything when it comes out in May 2023.
